Is it weird to take your printed resume in person and ask if they’re hiring instead of checking online or over the phone? I visit a local retail shop pretty often and I’ve talked to the owner since she is in there a lot but never about a job since I’m usually just buying clothes. I wanted to ask her personally if they were hiring and if it were possible to give her my resume. I also watch a lot of videos where people like me who are also unemployed and on the search for a job just call in to ask

It’s so sad that jobs don’t give you a “life” anymore. It almost felt like back in the day, a good job gave you some sort of stable lifestyle, whether that be sustaining a nice house or a family. Now, jobs really just feel like the bare minimum to keep you alive, and not having one feels incredibly scary to keep afloat.
